Textile and Apparel Programs Accreditation Commission

TAPAC serves as the official accrediting organization for programs in textiles and apparel in higher education to establish standards to support member programs in achieving excellence.

  • The International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA) formed a taskforce in 2012 to investigate the feasibility of accreditation for textiles and apparel programs. This led to the establishment of the Textile and Apparel Programs Accreditation Commission (TAPAC) in 2016. The first affiliate member programs joined TAPAC in 2017 and the first programs were accredited in 2019. The number of affiliate and accredited programs continues to grow.
